A sentence is a group of words which make complete sense. In
writing, it begins with a Capital letter and ends with a Full stop, Question
mark or Exclamation mark.

There are four types of
sentence
1.
Simple Sentence
2.
Compound Sentence
3.
Complex Sentence
4.
Compound Complex Sentence or Mixed sentence
A Simple Sentence is one which has only one subject
and predicate. [or] A Simple Sentence is one which has only one Finite Verb.
There are four kind of Simple Sentence:
a)
Declarative or Assertive Sentence: is one that
makes a statement or assertion.
b)
Interrogative Sentence: is one which asks a
question.
c)
Imperative Sentence: is one which gives a
command or makes a request.
d)
Exclamatory Sentence: is one expresses strong
feeling.
A Compound Sentence is one made up of two or more
main (Independent) clause.
A Complex Sentence is one which consists of one
Independent Clause and one or more Dependent (Subordinate) Clauses.
A Compound-Complex Sentence is a combination of two
or more independent clauses and one (or more) Dependent clauses.
